Anthropology
Program |
My primary foci include Psychological Anthropology, with emphasis on trance and possession-trance, the European Culture Area, especially the "Celtic Fringe," and Peasant Studies. My interests also include Native North America, the Afro-Caribbean, Medical Anthropology, and the Anthropology of Religion. I have conducted research on Aging and the Life-Course in Co. Mayo, Ireland, and on the rural class system in the American Upper Midwest.
In addition to teaching anthropology, I also enjoy building furniture, painting, and being a dad.
